A five-year contract signed for icebreaking with Fennica and Nordica

Arctia Offshore Oy and the Finnish Transport Agency signed on 28.10.2011 a contract on the use of multi-purpose icebreakers Fennica and Nordica in icebreaking operations in Finland. The contract is valid until spring 2016, with an option to extend the agreement for two additional years.

In practice, the contract ensures that the multi-purpose icebreakers Fennica and Nordica will provide winter navigation assistance in Finnish waters when the ice conditions are difficult.
